Hematology Oncology of Central New Jersey

Physicians

Doctor with patient Oncologists are physicians who study, diagnose, and treat cancerous tumors. They educate patients about their illness and explain what course of treatment will take place and the amount of radiation, chemotherapy, or drugs that should be used.

Oncologists develop and manage treatment programs, such as radiation therapy or chemotherapy, and will discuss with patients potential side effects or long-term effects that may occur as a result of the treatment used. They also monitor and care for patients during and after treatment.
